Bohemians 2 Finn Harps 0
Jake Kelly and Ismahil Akinade struck in the second half to give Bohemians the points in an entertaining match at Dalymount Park.
Harps played well and the crowd of 1,015 saw them threaten on 16 minutes but former Ireland under-21 international Shane Supple in the Bohs goal made a great save from a Tony McNamee shot before gathering the follow up from Ruairi Keating.
Bohs' Mark Quigley then blasted his free kick straight into the Harps wall on 18 minutes before the home side looked for a penalty on 20 minutes. Paddy Kavanagh's attempt to control the ball saw it hit off the side of Tommy McMonagle but referee Sean Grant wasn't interested.
On 26 minutes Roberto Lopes broke free and sent Kavanagh in on goal but Harps goalkeeper Richard Brush raced to out to make a clean save.
Harps had a lot of possession as the second period developed and Supple made several saves to deny Keating but the visitors found themselves behind on 68 minutes. Akinade’s cross was met perfectly by Kelly who slotted the ball past Brush and into the bottom far corner. Akinade then killed off the game on 88 minutes with a low close range shot.
