Mick Cooke describes the last time these two sides met in a cup final – back in May when Shamrock Rovers were far from flattered by a 7-1 win - as "one of those days", but it's hard to imagine he'd be quite so laid back if his Drogheda United team have another in Saturday evening's EA Sports Cup final .

The visitors, for that is what they effectively are, have a full squad to choose from, with the need for a replay in the FAI Cup against Finn Harps this week having enabled Gavin Brennan and and Mick Daly the opportunity to get suspensions out of the way.

Trevor Croly has Mark Quigley out due to a ban and doubts about Ronan Finn (groin), Eamon Zayed (back), Derek Foran (illness) and Karl Sheppard (abdomen), all of whom face late tests.

Both clubs have agreed to donate half of their prize money to Gary O’Neill, the United striker who was last week diagnosed with testicular cancer. The FAI have also agreed to give €5,000.
