Irish assistant manager Roy Keane will not appear in court this Tuesday as his case has been pushed back to April 8th.

The former Manchester United and Ireland captain was due to appear at Trafford Magistrates Court in England to defend allegations of road rage by a local taxi driver.

The first hearing will now take place on Wednesday week.

Keane was with the Irish squad during their 1-1 draw with Poland at the Aviva on Sunday.

The Cork native is not required to attend court but the postponement suggests that he may intend to do so.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police previously stated that a summons was posted on 2nd March 2015 for Keane to his home address in Hale, “in relation to an incident on Friday 30th January 2015 when police were called to Ashley Road, Altrincham to a report that a man had behaved aggressively towards another man.”
