Stephen Hunt has signed a short term deal with League One Coventry City.

The 34-year-old had been training with Tony Mowbray’s side for a week and the Sky Blues will be his first club since being released by Ipswich Town last summer.

Coventry currently sit in fourth place in League One and Mowbray has welcomed the addition of the former Ireland international, he said: “Stephen has been training with the squad for over a week now and we’ve offered him a short-term contract to continue that opportunity to challenge for a place in our first-team.

“He has fantastic pedigree, both in the Premier League and at international level, and will give us another valuable option going forward.
