Radamel Falcao's agent Jorge Mendes has said the Colombia striker might not be at Manchester United next season but he believes he will be at one of Europe's biggest clubs whether the club decides to sign him on a permanent basis or not.
Louis van Gaal left Falcao, who is on loan from Monaco, out of his squad for the 1-0 defeat to Southampton on Sunday, citing the need to substitute Angel di Maria, Luke Shaw and Daley Blind as the reason for his omission.
“He is a fantastic player, and I think it’s very difficult for Manchester United fans,” Mendes said of his client. “They have an absolutely brilliant player, one of the very best in the world, who would without any doubt play 90 minutes of the match, every time, with any other club.”
Mendes is unsure whether United will decide to keep Falcao, with Monaco placing a fee of more than £40m (€51.5m) on a striker who has been troubled by knee injuries, but says he is sure Falcao will earn a move to a big name club.
“The truth is, right now we don’t know what will happen. What we do know is that he will play in one of the very best clubs in the world next season, whether that is Manchester United or not. I am 100 per cent sure of that. But you know how football works, we need to wait a little. We’ll see what happens.”
