West Ham United have received a huge boost after playmaker Dimitri Payet insisted he is "100% staying" at the club.
Payet enjoyed an outstanding debut season for West Ham having arrived from Marseille for £10.7m 13 months ago. He scored 12 goals and assisted 13 more, leading to the Frenchman being named the club’s player of the year.
The 29-year-old went on to shine further at Euro 2016, scoring three times for France as they went onto reach the final, where the hosts were eventually beaten by Portugal. That led to speculation that he would leave West Ham this summer, but the player has made public his desire to remain.
“I’ve heard about all the interest and I’m flattered. But I love West Ham,” Payet is quoted as saying in the Sun. “We had a fantastic season and I can’t wait to play in the Olympic Stadium.
“I’m 100 per cent staying at West Ham, I love the club. I can tell the Hammers fans that.”
