THE RUBY Walsh-Willie Mullins team continue to be in sparkling form but their candidate for the beginners chase at Fairyhouse today, Irish Invader, could find the fencing newcomer Sher Why Not too good.
Sher Why Not's 10-race career has been interrupted by injury but Colm Murphy's runner is smart at his best. He was still travelling well when falling at the second last in the Leopardstown hurdle race won by River Liane before Cheltenham and he does have some point-to-point experience dating back to 2004.
Davy Russell takes the mount today and if Sher Why Not takes to the fences, then Irish Invader's 109 rating doesn't look too high a standard to reach.
Walsh and Mullins should have better luck in the opening mares maiden hurdle with Young Milly but their hopes for the second two-and-a-half-mile maiden hurdle, Equus Maximus, may have to give best to Horner Woods.
Jessica Harrington's promising horse was runner-up to Jimmy Bef at the track over Easter and an extra half mile should be ideal for this former point-to-point winner.
