Charity match: Leinster Jesuit Schools v Leinster Spiritans (Holy Ghost) Schools, Donnybrook, March 20th, 6.30pm
Jack Kavanagh is a 21-year-old former Clongowes Wood College student who broke his neck in a swimming accident in August, 2012. Jack is paralysed from the chest down and has limited use of his arms. Despite this, he returned to his pharmacy studies at Trinity College last September.
Four days after this year's schools final the best players from Blackrock, St Michael's, St Mary's and Templeogue Colleges will joins forces to face a combination of Clongowes Wood, Belvedere and Gonzaga Colleges, with the proceeds going to the Jack Kavanagh Trust. Similar charity matches were played in 1999 for Donal O'Flynn, and again in 2003/2004 for Philip Quinlan, when Rob Kearney and Johnny Sexton togged out.
