Paddy Jackson has been ruled out until the New Year after picking up a shoulder injury during Ulster's win over the Ospreys last Friday night.
The outhalf sustained an “AC joint sprain at his right shoulder” and the province expect him to be sidelined for up to six weeks.
Jackson was forced off on the hour mark at Ravenhill, with Ian Humphreys replacing him, and subsequent scans have revealed the extent of the problem.
A brief statement from Ulster explained: “Ulster outhalf, Paddy Jackson, suffered an AC joint sprain at his right shoulder in Friday night’s win over Ospreys at Kingspan Stadium.
“He is expected to be out of rugby for up to six weeks.”
