With some international and fringe players
coming back from Joe Schmidt's Irish squad and others returning from injury and illness, Anthony Foley travels to Wales with a strong hand. Like Leinster last night, some players will be thinking of more than winning the match. But first things first.
Because of the availability Foley rings in eight changes from last week and adds try-scoring Tommy O'Donnell, Felix Jones and Ian Keatley to the side. The Irish outhalf was a late withdrawal last week due to illness.
The return of CJ Stander also strengthens Foley's side with Andrew Conway overcoming the flu to take his place on the wing. There is a new front row with Dave Kilcoyne, Kevin O'Byrne and Stephen Archer all starting.
Scarlets coach Wayne Pivac has named an unchanged side, who are seventh in the league and on the same points as Connacht after a bonus point win over them last Sunday.
Home record
The Welsh side go into the match with a proud home record and haven’t lost at Parc y Scarlets in the league since St Stephen’s Day 2013.
"Munster have a good record. They are near top of the table. They'll bring a different threat from Connacht and across the board are slightly stronger," said Pivac.
Like Munster Scarlets also have some international heavyweights available with the region's top points scorer Rhys Priestland joining Gareth Davies and Rob Evans on the replacements bench. All were released by the Wales camp for this weekend's clash.
