Connacht outhalf JJ Hanrahan has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering an ACL injury in the recent win over the Dragons.

Following a scan, the 31-year-old will now undergo surgery later this month. The good news for Connacht is that Jack Carty is fit to resume action after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Ireland star Mack Hansen remains sidelined, while Cian Prendergast will be unavailable for Saturday’s derby game against Munster at Thomond Park due to a thumb injury.

Prop Denis Buckley is also ruled out for a number of weeks with a shoulder injury, but Byron Ralston returns from an ankle knock.
