Jason Robinson's much heralded debut for England was something of an anti-climax for the former rugby league star. After coming on as a replacement for Ben Cohen on 50 minutes he had to wait a further 19 minutes before he received his first pass, and that came about when he filled in as a temporary scrumhalf at the back of a ruck. He could only watch forlornly as those around him helped themselves to tries: poor old Italy ran out of gas. The jury is still out on whether the Wigan wonder can have just as big an influence in union that he enjoyed in league.
