FAI chief executive Bernard O'Byrne has insisted the Eircom Park project is "stronger now than it has ever been" after most of the figures relating to the new business plan were shown to directors of the association's holding company for the project, Centime Ltd.

After a four-hour meeting in Dublin yesterday, O'Byrne said the directors had received "a full presentation" on the scheme, and that "while a little additional work needs to be done before Monday's board of management meeting, the situation is very positive".

The presentation will be made to the association's directors at the start of next week after which they will have four days to consider the figures before voting on whether to proceed.

Meanwhile, Stephen Kelly and Sean Riordan have received single match suspensions from this week's meeting of the FAI disciplinary meeting. Portmarnock's Declan Dolan was also banned for one game following his sending off during the FAI Cup defeat of Rockmount. All three could now miss the next round of the Cup.
