UCD striker Peter Hanrahan looks set to miss the rest of the season after having surgery on an Achilles tendon injury following Friday night's 3-3 cup draw with Bohemians at Dalymount Park.
Hanrahan was stretchered off after less than 20 minutes and Martin Moran's problems ahead of this evening's replay (Belfield 7.45) are compounded by the fact that Glen Fitzpatrick, the youth international who replaced him, sustained a broken wrist shortly after coming on.
The pair weren't the only ones to take hefty knocks in the encounter at the weekend. Ciaran Martyn and Mick O'Byrne reportedly came in for the break with a swollen nose and black eye respectively.
The news isn't all bad for Moran, however, as Aidan Lynch will play after suspension.
Bohemians, meanwhile, must wait on Robbie Brunton before Roddy Collins names his starting line-up. The defender pulled a muscle on Friday but Tony O'Connor, Mark Dempsey and Jamie Harris all come back into the reckoning after injuries.
The game between Finn Harps and Longford Town at Ballybofey (7.45) is subject to a pitch inspection this morning and if it is put back to Thursday evening then Gavin Dykes may be the main beneficiary for Johnny Kenny is very doubtful due to an ankle injury.
Tom Mohan and James Mulligan both have pulled hamstrings but both are expected to be fit enough to play, while Longford's only change is expected to be the replacement of the suspended Paul Perth with Ger Thompson.
Athlone Town manager Jimmy Green must also make changes for the trip to Galway (Terryland Park, 7.45) as Gary Connaughton and Conor Frawley are both suspended. Paul Brennan, a product of the club's youth development scheme, takes over in goal while Tom Silke and Alan Kelly return to the defence and midfield respectively. Galway manager Don O'Riordan adds Eric Lavine to his squad.
