Catriona Matthew has been reappointed as Great Britain and Ireland captain for the Curtis Cup. The 55-year-old Scot skippered the team in September as they lifted their first Curtis Cup since 2016, beating the United States 10½ to 9½ in Sunningdale.

A two-time Solheim Cup-winning captain, Matthew will now help Great Britain and Ireland defend their Curtis Cup title at the 44th competition in Los Angeles, which takes place from June 12th-14th, 2026.

She said: “I’m delighted to be reappointed as Great Britain and Ireland Captain for the Curtis Cup and look forward to leading the team at Bel-Air in 2026.

“It was a great contest against the United States of America at Sunningdale and the victory is right up there with anything I’ve achieved, including winning the Solheim Cup as a player and captain. I was proud to lead such a talented side and am honoured that the R&A has asked me to continue as captain.”
