HOCKEY:Glenanne and Pembroke Wanderers made it four wins out of four in the Leinster First Division on Saturday, but while Pembroke had a comfortable enough afternoon, with Justin Sherriff and Ian Symmons scoring two apiece in a 4-1 win away to Three Rock Rovers, Glenanne won by just a single score in an 11-goal game with Fingal.
Stephen Butler helped himself to five of Glenanne's goals in a 6-5 win, four of them, unsurprisingly, coming from short corners, but the Leinster champions' concession of five to Fingal, bringing to 11 the number they have conceded in four games, has them trailing Pembroke in the goal difference stakes by eight.
A Lucas Piccioli hat-trick sent Corinthians on their way to a 5-1 defeat of Kilkenny, while Bray, at the bottom of the table with UCD, are still to get off the points' mark after losing 4-2 to YMCA, Dave Robinson scoring twice for the victors.
In Ulster, a Chris Barnes double gave Instonians a 2-1 win over Annadale in the Premier League's game of the weekend.
