The players and supporters of Welsh clubs tend to get a hard time from their English counterparts when they go on their travels, with much of the terrace abuse thrown in their direction involving references to sheep (the only printable one being: "Woooooah, you're sheep - BAA", whenever a Welsh goalkeeper takes a kick-out).
Naturally Welsh football supporters will deny that sheep have any place in Welsh football, which makes the reason for the postponement of a Caernarfon and District League game last week, unfortunate: the pitch was covered in sheep droppings. "I had no choice. One side of the pitch was all right, with only a few droppings, but the other half was covered in it. It's a serious issue for the players as they could get nasty infections," explained the referee. (See Chants of the Week).
