Connacht GAA have announced Roscommon’s Dr. Hyde Park as the venue for this year’s Connacht Football Championship finals, which take place on July 19th.

The men’s Senior championship final, to be contested by Mayo and Sligo, will kick off at 4pm and will be preceded by the minor final at 2pm.

The final was last held at Dr. Hyde Park in 2012 when again Sligo played Mayo, with James Horan’s side running out narrow 0-10 to 0-12 winners and lifting the provincial title as they plotted a route to the All Ireland final, which they lost to Jim McGuinness and Donegal.

A statement from Connacht GAA has said the council has put in place an event management plan to help accommodate an attendance of more than 20,000.
