A new five-year sponsorship deal covering all aspects of Dublin GAA will be officially launched in the capital this afternoon with insurance company AIG Ireland.
The event will also see the launch of the new Dublin jersey, which will be worn by all Dublin sides across football, hurling and camogie. The new jersey will go on sale from Friday.
Welcoming the deal and the new jersey, Dublin GAA County Board chairman Andy Kettle said: "This sponsorship deal is a massive boost to Dublin GAA and all its clubs and members. The last few years have been very positive for Dublin GAA on and off the field but success cannot be achieved without the support of key partners and we are delighted to have AIG on board as we look to promote Gaelic Games.
“At a time when the business environment is challenging, sponsorship revenue is essential in helping with the development of the GAA in Dublin and increasing participation.
“AIG is a blue chip organisation with a proven track record in sponsorship and they are going to be an exceptional partner. We are confident that Dublin fans will be proud to wear our latest jersey and great credit must go to the team in O’Neills who have worked hard over the last few weeks, in consultation with the players and managers, to deliver this jersey here today.”
AIG Ireland general manager Declan O’Rourke said; “AIG is thrilled to be partnering with Dublin GAA, one of the country’s most successful GAA counties. Both the Dubs and AIG share core values of teamwork, tenacity and performance.
“As a sponsor, we are committed to assisting Dublin GAA to promote these fantastic games and help support games development and future success in the county.”
