Billy Holland is a chip off the old block if Saturday's evidence is anything to go by. A member of the CBC Cork team that beat Rockwell in the Munster Schools' Junior Cup final at Thomond Park, he plays in the second row like his famous father, Munster team manager Jerry. We would also like to point out in deference to young Billy, that he is faster, fitter, leaner and a better ball player than his father.
The aforementioned final took place after the Shannon-Galwegians league match and those that played in the league game had to vacate the dressing-rooms pretty sharply. Given that there are only two dressing-rooms in Thomond Park and the Junior Schools' Cup final was scheduled for 5.30 p.m., there was no lingering for the elder statesmen.
When the IRFU is developing the terracing at the Bohs end of the ground - it should add another 2,500 to the capacity - they might just consider a little remodelling under the main stand that would provide for a couple of extra rooms.
