CORK CITY and St Patrick's Athletic return to league action tomorrow afternoon after starkly different fortunes in the Uefa Cup on Thursday night.

Having beaten Olimps to secure their place in the second qualifying round, the Dubliners are without Dave Partridge and Gary O'Neill for the short trip to Belfield.

John McDonnell does have Noel Haverty available again after injury, however, while Jaroslaw Bialek goes into the squad for the first time since arriving at the club.

The hosts are missing Ian Bermingham, while Brian King and Alan Mahon are doubts and manager Pete Mahon must cope for the first time without Derek Doyle, Paul Byrne or Darren Forsyth, all of whom moved on during the transfer window.

City, meanwhile, will look to bounce back from the 4-0 defeat they suffered at the hands of FC Haka in midweek.

Pat Sullivan and Liam Kearney are both suspended but John O'Flynn is available again after coming through his late run out on Thursday without any reaction.

Sligo's injury problems persist, with Séamus Coleman (ankle), Steve Feeney (hamstring) and Matthew Judge (broken cheek bone) all still sidelined.

SUNDAY'S FIXTURES

Premier Division: Sligo Rovers v Cork City, the Showgrounds, 3.0; UCD v St Patrick's Athletic, UCD Bowl, 3.0.
