Coliseum is set to try and become Aidan O'Brien fourth juvenile Group One scorer this season in Sunday's Grand Criterium at Longchamp.
Still a maiden after three starts, Coliseum was an expensive second to Mus-If in the National Stakes last time but O'Brien said yesterday: "He has been in fine form since then and has been left in the French race. Obviously he wouldn't like the ground to turn into a bog."
O'Brien won the Criterium with Second Empire last year and already this season has picked up the Prix Morny with Orpen. His other Group One winners have been Lavery and Sunspangled.
O'Brien reports Stravinsky to be still in full work and that colt is one of then 10 Ballydoyle horses still in the Racing Post Trophy to be run at Doncaster in 16 days' time.
Only 22 others are left in the £150,000 Group One mile event won by Saratoga Springs last year. They include Godolphin's Easaar and Enrique, trained by Henry Cecil, who has won the race 10 times.
O'Brien maintained yesterday the Breeders' Cup Mile is a more likely end of season target for Second Empire than Newmarket's Champion Stakes, for which the Fairy King colt remains an entry.
