The holders Clontarf will begin their defence of the Smithwick's Old Belvedere rugby Floodlit Cup at Anglesea Road next Tuesday when they take on Bective Rangers in the first round. Buccaneers, whose fixture with Wanderers the following night will revive memories not only of their memorable, double extra-time joust of last season, but also the controversially postponed AIL Division Two fixture which ultimately meant Wanderers remained in an expanded Division Two.
Buccaneers will join a dozen of the senior Leinster clubs in the annual competition, the exceptions being UCD, Skerries, Terenure and Monkstown.
