WOMEN'S HOCKEY:OLD ALEXANDRA were the only team in the top five of the Leinster First Division to drop points at the weekend, Carol McGowan's goal giving Corinthian a draw at Milltown on Saturday.

UCD, Railway Union, Loreto and Hermes, though, all picked up wins, the students maintaining their two-point lead at the top.

Two victories in three days, against Trinity last Thursday and Three Rock on Saturday, have lifted Railway into second place, with Jean McDonnell getting two of their goals in a 4-0 defeat of Three Rock.

Loreto took advantage of Alexandra’s slip by moving up to third with a 3-0 win over Pembroke Wanderers. Nikki Keegan, Sarah Barnwell and Jessica McGirr were their scorers.
