Sir, – There has been much criticism and debate around the Bus Connects proposal, and so it has been kicked a long way down the road, possibly to 2020.
However, one aspect of the project that has not come in for any criticism whatsoever is the concept of a single fare for up to 90 minutes of travel, allowing multiple changes on any public transport mode. This is normal practice in many cities around the world. I would urge the National Transport Authority to implement this as soon as possible, as it would facilitate much greater flexibility for commuters. It would also have the benefit of showing the naysayers that most people are happy to interchange if it improves the journey. – Yours, etc,
