Sir, – Your report by Jennifer Bray on the formation of the new government paints a most interesting picture (“Bashed tables, dad dancing and pizza: how the deal was done”, Analysis, January 18th). A senior Government source states there were “late hours all week, then Saturdays and Sundays, eating pizza, biscuits, sweets, whatever was going”. We are informed where the pizza was sourced, and biscuits are biscuits, but in relation to the sweets, I suggest that the electorate has a right to know if we are looking at a new government that was fuelled by Quality Street, Roses or perhaps even Celebrations. In the national interest. – Yours, etc,
FRANK J BYRNE,
Dublin 9.
