November reflections

Letters to the Editor. Illustration: Paul Scott
The Irish Times - Letters to the Editor.

Sir, – Michael Harding’s reminiscences of November in the graveyard struck a chord (“As I left the graveyard, I reflected on what November does to the soul”, Life, November 6th).

The words of a friend at a recent burial continue to resonate: “I know more people under the ground than above it, and my silent conversations in the graveyard have begun to outnumber those in town.” – Yours, etc,

ENDA CULLEN,
