Traffic and protests

Delays getting home

The Irish Times - Letters to the Editor.

Sir, – City centre protests are becoming a frequent feature of Dublin city life (“Anti-immigration protesters cleared from Dublin city centre with 19 arrests”, News, September 19th).

During the anti-immigration protest last Thursday numerous cross-city bus services were greatly delayed or suspended causing considerable hardship to many citizens.

Is it not time for Dublin Bus to consider turning buses around in the city centre during such protests so that a service can continue to the outer suburbs for those who do not wish to transit the city centre? – Yours, etc,

LOUIS O’FLAHERTY,
