Sir, – A new national record for disappearing from relevance has been set by Paralympian Shauna Bocquet after she came second in the Diamond League 800m T54 in Brussels on Friday. Shauna had returned from Paris 2024 to a hero’s welcome on Monday. However, The Irish Times failed to mention her competing in Brussels while covering the success of the only other Irish athlete at the event, in a front page article on Saturday’s Sports Weekend celebrating third place by Olympian Rhasidat Adeleke.
Is this a message to Paralympians not to get ahead of themselves – two legs good, three wheels bad? – Yours, etc,
