Sir, – It is less than a month since our capital city was subjected to an appalling attack by mindless individuals who have no regard for law, order, authority or respect for fellow citizens.
But on Saturday, December 16th, the city was reclaimed and restored to its rightful glory by the amazing groups and singers who gave their precious time and talent to raise much-needed funds for lots of charitable causes.
Despite what we may have thought a few weeks ago, Grafton Street is still a wonderland and there is magic in the air. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dublin Corporation for its amazing work in once again putting up Christmas decorations and lights in the city centre for the festive period. Seeing the lights all over town is one of the highlights of the season for me.
I am on the autism spectrum and I can find winter, especially, to be a difficult time – the changing weather, the cold and wet days. Also, town can be quite busy, with lots of people around. And there is also a lot of noise. It can all result in a sensory overload. But looking at the lights gives me a wonderful lift. Walking in the glow of all the lights gives me a lovely calm feeling and I no longer feel so stressed.
Dublin is a beautiful city and it’s wonderful to see it in all its glory. – Yours, etc,
