US police have released details of a drunken brawl at a birthday party in Anchorage last month involving the family of former Alaska governor and one-time Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

The fight involved as many as 20 people, including Palin’s husband Todd, son Track (26) and daughter Bristol (23) and occurred on the evening of September 6th after the Palins were out celebrating Todd’s birthday and decided to drop by another birthday party.

The police reports capture a scene of drunken chaos at the party but don’t mention any involvement of the former governor. No arrests were made and no charges have arisen.

According to their reports, police officers Justin Bailey and John Daily arrived at 10.44pm at the home of the party’s host, Korey Klingenmeyer, to find members of the Palin family walking towards a white limousine parked outside the house.

The officers said Track Palin was shirtless and had blood around his mouth and on his hands and an injury under one eye. They smelled “the strong odour of alcohol coming from the group” and found Track to be “heavily intoxicated.”

Officer Daily said Track was belligerent when they first approached him to question him but his mother, who was in the limousine at the time, told her son to talk to the police officer in her presence.

Track told police that some individuals at the party were “talking rudely to his sisters” and they decided to leave but as they walked away from the house one of his friends was “sucker punched” from behind and knocked to the ground. He then confronted one of the men, saying that he would fight him, and took off his shirt.

The police officers say that Bristol had allegedly tried to confront a 40-year-old woman at the party who she said pushed her younger sister, Willow. Police described Willow Palin as “extremely agitated” and that she told them people at the party were saying things like “F**k the Palins.”

had confronted Mr Klingenmeyer, hitting the party’s host in the face. According to the police, Mr Klingenmeyer said he told Bristol to hit him again “if it makes her feel better” and she hit him five to six more times before he grabbed her fist and pushed her down.

Bristol said that someone dragged her by her feet across a lawn, that she was called names and that her sandals and sunglasses were stolen.

The altercation eventually ended with police separating the Palins from the other partygoers and the Palin family leaving in their limousine.
