A policeman has died after being shot in the Tunisian coastal city where 30 Britons were killed in June.
Two men on a motorcycle opened fire on three policemen in Sousse using a rifle on Wednsday.
One of the officers died while being taken to hospital, and while earlier reports suggested the other two policemen were injured this was not the case, the Tunisian interior ministry said.
Police are searching for the attackers.
On June 26th, three Irish people were among 38 tourists gunned down by Seifeddine Rezgui at Sousse by Seifeddine Rezgui, a popular holiday resort.
Islamic State claimed responsibility for that shooting rampage.
Police in Tunisia have made hundreds of arrests since the beach killings, in an effort to combat the threat from terrorists.
Earlier this month the Metropolitan Police said there is "strong" evidence of a connection between the killings in Sousse in June and a shooting at the National Bardo Museum outside the capital Tunis three months earlier.
