A postmortem on the body of murdered British soldier, Drummer Lee Rigby, has established the cause of death was "multiple incised wounds", Scotland Yard said today.
The soldier was stabbed with knives and cleavers in the neighbourhood of Woolwich, London, across the street from an army barracks, after he was run over with a car. Police are treating the case as an act of terrorism.
Michael Adebowale and Michael Adebolajo were both shot and injured by police at the scene in the wake of the murder.
Adebowale was discharged from hospital and taken into police custody, while Adebolajo remains in hospital.
Drummer Rigby, father of a two-year-old son, was a drummer in the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. He served as a machine gunner in Cyprus and then in 2009 as a member of a fire support group in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
