Three bodies have been found near a train station in a Swiss Alpine town in the canton of Bern after a shooting.

A man shot his wife and child before shooting himself in Wilderswil, near Interlaken in the Bernese Oberland, Swiss daily newspaper 20 Minuten reported.

Last year Switzerland, where citizens can keep army-issued firearms after their mandatory military service, debated stricter gun controls after the worst mass shootings since 2001.
