Northern Irish fan dies in southern city of Nice

It is understood the 24-year-old man died in the early hours of Monday

A Northern Irish football fan has died in the southern French city of Nice, according to French police.

The 24-year-old man reportedly died in the early hours of Monday morning, a few hours after Poland beat Northern Ireland in the team's first match at a European championship.

The French police force from the Alpes-Maritimes region in the south of the country confirmed the man's death on Monday.

It is believed the man’s death was accidental.
