Video: 14 giant panda cubs make public debut in China

Cubs born between July and September of this year

Fourteen baby pandas born in a southwest China breeding centre were gathered together for their first public viewing on Monday (September 23). All the cubs were bred artificially at the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding and Research Base in Sichuan.

Fourteen giant panda cubs born at the Chengdu Breeding and Research Centre in Sichuan, China, have been shown to the public for the first time.

The cubs were born between July and September this year and are being raised in two delivery rooms.

The eldest cub, Meng Meng, is four times heavier than the youngest, Ya Yi, despite being born just 40 days apart.

The first 10 days are the most dangerous period for panda cubs, as this is when they are most susceptible to diseases.
