A man and a woman are in Garda custody following the discovery of two pipe bombs, drugs, weapons and ammunition in separate raids on two houses in north Dublin.
Gardaí from the Finglas Drug Unit raided a house at Barry Park in Finglas on Friday evening and found two pipe bombs, a shotgun and ammunition.
An Army bomb disposal team was called to the house to examine the pipe bombs, which were made safe and removed by gardaí for forensic examination.
The Defence Forces said on Saturday that bomb disposal experts "made safe two improvised explosive devices. No controlled explosion was carried out.
"They were discovered during a planned Garda search. The devices were in storage in the house and not set to detonate. The team gave the all-clear at 12.15am. The remains of the devices were handed over to gardaí for forensic examination."
Cocaine and herbal cannabis believed to have a street value of €10,000 were also found during the raid.
The drugs have been sent to the Garda Technical Bureau for forensic analysis and a 22-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the find under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
Meanwhile, in a separate operation on Friday evening, a sawn-off shotgun and a small amount of ammunition were seized during a raid at a house at Cappagh Avenue, Finglas.
A 34-year-old man was arrested in connection with the discovery under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
