Tubridy and Dunphy firms' profits show steep increase

Accounts just filed by the Late Late Show host’s firm, Tuttle Productions Ltd, show the firm’s accumulated profits increased from €34,396 to €60,446 in the year to the end of August 2011.

Figures released by RTÉ last year show Tubridy (37) earned €519,667 from RTÉ in 2009 – the third-highest behind Pat Kenny.

Accounts lodged by the firm operated by another RTÉ high earner, Eamon Dunphy, show a 20 per cent rise in accumulated profits, from €371,130 to €447,771 in the 12 months to December 2010. Shareholder funds increased from €672,399 to €749,040.

The accounts show that the company’s fixed assets include an investment property valued at €830,000 in December 2010 – no change from December 2009.

The figures show a marginal rise in company cash from €25,789 to €29,996. It paid corporation tax of €3,519 in 2010 compared to €1,827 in 2009.

According to RTÉ, the football pundit and newspaper columnist sustained the largest drop in salary of the RTÉ top-10 with his 2008 earnings of €328,051 dropping to €225,485 in 2009.
