A TEENAGER who was being questioned by gardaí about the murder of two Polish men in Dublin last month has been released from custody without charge.
A file on his alleged role in the double killing is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The 16-year-old was arrested on Wednesday at Sundrive Road Garda station in Crumlin. He was questioned about the double killing under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
He was detained overnight before his release yesterday afternoon. He was arrested two weeks ago for questioning about the attack.
Three other teenagers, including two males aged 19 and 15 years and a 14-year-old girl, were also arrested for questioning in the days after the victims died.
All of those questioned have been released without charge. Files are being prepared for the DPP on their alleged roles in the fatal assault.
Gardaí believe the teenagers were present at the scene of the attack and that they all have information that could solve the double murder.
Pawel Kalite (29) and Marius Szwajkos (27) were stabbed in the throat and head with a screwdriver.
Both men had come to Ireland last summer and were working in a crash repair centre at the time of their murders.
Mr Kalite was stabbed first and when Mr Szwajkos went to his aid he was stabbed in the head. A female friend with whom they shared a house ran to their aid.
The men were attacked after they became involved in an argument with teenagers outside shops on Benbulben Road, Drimnagh, a short distance from where they lived, at 6.50pm on Saturday, February 23rd.
Both men died from their injuries at St James's Hospital, Dublin, in the days after the attack.
