Ready, Steady Cough seems like a highly appropriate title for ramshackle comedian Dylan Moran's new show, which he performs tomorrow night at Dublin's HQ. The master of surreal diffidence, who hails from the seedbed of Irish comedy, Navan, has more recently been living in Edinburgh, where earlier he won a Perrier comedy award in the 1996 Fringe festival.
Moran has just finished working on Black Books - a sitcom he co-wrote with Graham Linehan (Father Ted), and which stars Bill Bailey and Moran himself - to be broadcast on Channel 4 this September. He remains a superlative live stand-up, with a distinctive, louche style and highly imaginative material. These days he's an infrequent performer here, so this is a show to look forward to.
