Genetics and its impact on our society is the theme of a public symposium next Sunday, October 10th, at the National Concert Hall. Organised by the Department of Genetics at Trinity College, the day-long event brings together leading researchers and commentators on such issues as genetically modified foods, the ethics of human cloning, inherited diseases and using modified plants to make human vaccines. The object is to aid a better public understanding of genetics and the presentations are aimed at a general audience.
