Kenny adviser appointed to European Investment Bank

One of Taoiseach Enda Kenny's most senior advisers has been appointed vice-president of the European Investment Bank.

Andrew McDowell, who has been Mr Kenny’s chief economic adviser since entering Government, has been appointed to the post.

Mr McDowell was also seen as one of the most influential people in Government in recent years and has been a key driver of Fine Gael policy.
