The Oireachtas banking inquiry has yet to agree the contents of its final report two days from its self-imposed deadline.

Members met again yesterday to examine the revised draft report, but the committee has yet to agree findings, conclusions or the executive summary.

The report, which will be made up of 11 key chapters and will run to 400 pages, must be completed by Thursday.

Fianna Fáil spokesman on finance Michael McGrath said: "The team which we put in place nine days ago has done a great deal of work to bring the process this far and have added to the work done prior to then by the wider team.

“It will still be down to the wire . . . there is still much debate to be had on the central issues on findings and recommendations and the executive summary at the start of the report.”

The committee will have a final read-through of the report tomorrow.
