Soap star Joan Collins took to twitter on Tuesday to deny she was arrested at a protest in Dublin.
The British actress was referring to an incident in Dublin on Monday in which United Left TD Joan Collins was arrested.
She was one of 13 people who were arrested by gardaí as they demonstrated against the installation of the water meters in Crumlin.

— Joan Collins T.D. (@JoanCollinsTD) April 21, 2015Apparently shocked at being associated with the actions of the protesting Dublin TD, the actress tweeted: “No I am not the Joan Collins Who was a rested (sic) yesterday At a Dublin protest meeting !!! The very idea!!”
United Left TD Joan Collins was equally shocked and quickly responded: “For the record I’m not @JoanCollinsOBE as I’d never take an honour from a monarch nor did I wear shoulder pads in the 80s. The very idea!”
While they both occupy different stages, politically they could not be further apart.
The actress and the one-time Ukip patron has admitted to being a “big supporter of Thatcher” and described her politics as “Conservative party, 1940s” in a 2011 interview.
During her political career, Joan Collins TD has opposed bin tax, the household charge and most recently the water charges.
