Police in the North have launched a murder inquiry after a Protestant man, injured in a hit-and-run in north Belfast at the weekend, died in hospital last night.
Mr William Morgan (27), a married Protestant man with a three-year-old son, was hit by the stolen car in North Queen Street on Saturday night. The car, which had been stolen in Newtownabbey, was found abandoned in Victoria Parade.
The victim’s family have appealed for no retaliation.
Another hit-and-run in north Belfast, this time on a Catholic man, is being treated as attempted murder.

The 48-year-old man was hurt on Sunday night when a car mounted the footpath at the junction of Union Street and Library Street and hit him.
