WITH LESS than three weeks to go, the final raft of bands to play the main stages at Electric Picnic have been announced.
Sixteen additional acts were unveiled yesterday including Massachusetts electronic band Passion Pit, up-and-coming London foursome the XX and Chilean DJ Luciano.
Also just announced for the festival at Stradbally, Co Laois, which takes place on September 4th, 5th and 6th, are well-loved Irish singer-songwriter David Kitt, David Geraghty and 8 Ball, as well as Bolton indie rock band Our Fold.
Nine names have been released for the dance tent, known as the Little Big Tent. Among them are the Hacker, Optimo DJs, Zombie Nation, Ebony Bones and Japanese Popstars.
More than 120 music acts will perform throughout the weekend, with the biggest crowds to be drawn to electronic act Orbital, Beach Boys main man Brian Wilson, ska legends Madness, Oklahoma-based psychedelic indie band the Flaming Lips and Brooklyn duo MGMT.
Further acts for the Bacardi stage are yet to be announced.
Weekend tickets with camping are available for €240. Combined bus and event tickets, at €268, are also available from Ticketmaster.
