A man and a woman have appeared in Dublin District Court charged in connection with a £5 million drugs haul in the capital on Tuesday.

Dublin District Court heard that Mr Karl Donnelly (30), of Kilfenora Road, Kimmage, Dublin 8, had nothing to say when charged last night. He made no reply to the charges in court today.

The court also heard Ms Ashley Dawson (30), of Dolphin House, Dolphins Barn, Dublin 8, said "no" when charged and did not respond to the charges in court today.

The pair were charged on two counts in relation to the haul of heroin and ecstasy tablets.

The court heard the drugs had a street value of £5 million, depending on purity.

Both were remanded in custody due the "weight of evidence" against them. Mr Donnelly will appear before Cloverhill District Court on September 27th, and Ms Dawson will appear before Dublin District Court on the same day.
