A man is to appear in court this morning in connection with drugs and arms seizures in Dublin at the weekend.
Four men were arrested on Friday night after firearms, ammunition and drugs worth over €560,000 were seized during a series of raids on a warehouse and houses in south and west Dublin.
The warehouse, at the Hillcrest Business Park, Greenhills Road, Walkinstown, is believed to have been a cocaine preparation factory.
Gardaí seized vacuuming machines, pressing equipment and firearms, as well as hundreds of rounds of ammunition and half a million euros worth of cocaine. They also searched a house in Oakway, Clondalkin where they recovered a 9mm automatic Glock pistol and a small amount of cocaine.
The 28-year-old man, who is due to appear in court this morning, is to be charged under section 27(a) of the Firearms Act, and sections 3 and 15 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
Late last night, two other men arrested in connection with the raids were still in custody at Pearse Street Garda station in Dublin.
A fourth man in his late 30s, questioned following a raid on a house at Elm Drive in Tallaght, also on Friday night, has been released without charge.
Cannabis and cocaine worth an estimated €60,000 were seized from the property, as well as €10,000 in cash. A file is to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Gardaí said the searches were part of an ongoing operation targeting gangland crime.
Meanwhile, three men arrested on Thursday in connection with the seizure of 3.5kg of cocaine, have been remanded in custody to Cloverhill prison.
Stanley Kamara (23), Manor Street, Dublin, Mindaugas Sabaliauskas (19) of no fixed abode and John Foday (22), The Rise, Nobber, Co Meath, were charged under sections 3 and 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act at Chancery Street Court in Dublin on Saturday morning.
The court heard that the drugs, with an estimated value of €250,000, were seized as part of a joint operation between Customs officers and gardaí.
It is understood the drugs had originated in Peru and were transported to Ireland via the postal service.
The three men were remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court on Wednesday.
