Man shot five times near Belfast

A 25-year-old man is in a stable condition in hospital after he was shot five times at his home near Belfast.

A 25-year-old man is in a stable condition in hospital after he was shot five times at his home near Belfast.

The man was confronted by three armed and masked men when he opened the door at his home in Summerhill Drive at around 8.45pm.

A struggle ensued and the man was pushed to the ground and shot five times.

The injured man sustained gunshot wounds to both calves, shoulder, thigh and left-hand in the shooting. He was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The PSNI said they arrested a man last night in the nearby Cherry Road. He is being questioned today at the Serious Crime Suite in Antrim.

The PSNI said today they have also arrested a woman in connection with the shooting.
