A 34 year-old man is still being questioned at Ballyfermot Garda station following the seizure of more than €200,000 worth of heroin during a search in Dublin yesterday.

The man was arrested following the discovery of more than a kilo of the drug at a house in Ballyfermot yesterday. 

The discovery was made during a search carried out shortly after at a house in the Ronanstown area of Dublin.

A garda spokesman said the search took place as a result of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in West Dublin. 

The man is being held under section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
